Football Tickets in London..Help.
 

I'm taking my dad for his 60th birthday to London for 5 days in early April. My dad is a huge football fan and we want to go see 2 matches while we're there (one on the 7th and the other on the 9th). Option #1 would be Chelsea vs. Spurs on the 7th (Samford Bridge) and then Spurs vs. Blackburn or West Ham vs. Chelsea on the 9th. Can anyone provide any tips on how I should go about getting tickets to these matches? Is buying from a scalper/tout the best option? Any chance I'll be able to buy them online as a non-member? Also, any other suggestions as to matches I should see instead during that time would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Chelski v Spurs - FA Cup I believe - I would say that all tickets would be sold to season ticket holders and if you want to get one from a tout (scalper) be prepared to offer at least one kidney and the life of your first born or pay even more (arm & leg in addition) for a hospitality package.

Weat Ham v Chelski won't be much better even though most West Ham fans will, by then, be suffering extreme depression and contemplating suicide or even worse, not renewing their season ticket.

So that leaves Spurs v Blackburn Rovers which is between 2 teams who have little to aim for - so have a look at www.tottenhamhotspur.com and book a ticket when they become available

Thanks Alan. The FA cup match is actually in the next few weeks. The one I want to go to is in early April, Premiership game. Do you think it will be as hard?

your best bet is to just call the club that is the home team for the match. Each club has different ways you purchase tickets and they would be the best source (even over their website). Often all it requires is joining some kind of "membership" thing. the price for this depends on the club. I know for my Manchester City membership thing was 10 pounds a couple years ago.

As far as the matches, the Chelsea/Spurs matches may be tough to get, that is a big rivalry in the EPL, but the others don't appear to be any kind of special derby or anything so they should not be too tough. West Ham v. Chelsea should be a pretty easy match to get tickets for,

Scalpers/online ticket sites/etc are a rip off. Often the prices are in the 350-400USD range because people who don't know how to buy tickets use these so they can get those prices. I think I paid about $100 USD to see Chelsea and about $80 USD for Man City over the Christmas Holiday in 2005.

According to the Chelsea website, the tickets for the Spurs game will go on general sale on April 2 - members & season ticket holders get to buy before this, so there may not be many left by then, but just in case the webpage is:

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I emailed the Chelsea ticket office and told them I was coming from the States, and all they said back was for me to become a member and then try to buy the tix. Is it worth spending 65 pounds on each membership and then 50 pounds on each ticket, or would it be better to just scalp the tix?
