Football (soccer) matches in July
 

My kids and I will be travelling to Austria and Italy in July, and I'm wondering if anyone knows if we'll be able to see a soccer match. We are planning on being in Austria July 2-7, Italy 8-14, and then back in Austria the 15-17. I know this isn't prime soccer season, but am trying to see if there is anything we can see. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You're right that July isn't football season in Europe, so apart from late july in Germany for Dritte Liga (3rd league - starts around 19/20th July)and the odd random match in Italy, you might get lucky with some friendly matches. Or check the websites of the major clubs in some of the cities you'll be in to see if they have any matches scheduled.

I looked but couldn't find any World Cup qualifying matches on while you're there either. But have a look for the UEFA qualifying matches for the Champions League and the Europa League and see if any dates match your time there.
