I also use Dr. Scholl's Moleskin. It comes in pads and you cut it down to size. It is a lifesaver for dancers.

laclaire--I bought the bandaids for blisters with compeed; I've used them before, and they work great (you use them after you get a blister). The moleskin helps prevent them, right? How do you attach the moleskin? Thanks.

Moleskin works great to prevent likeso: put on your shoe and check for "hot spots" (potential blister causers). Cut the appropriate amount of moleskin to cover that on your foot. Clean and dry the spot and tape it down (moleskin is adhesive). You are good to go.

Moleskin is also good on shallow and non-broken blisters. I once put it on open skin (I cut a blister off. . . gimme a break, I was 12) and was up and walking, but tearing it off was a mother load of pain.

If you don't have cleaning supplies, use a little spit and the end of your shirt. I know it sounds gross, but if you don't clean off the dirt, the moleskin will come off and you might not notice until the blister erupts.

I have a package of Molefoam by Dr. Scholl. It's sheets of moleskin layered with foam with adhesive on the back. I just cut it a little larger than the spot that's getting rubbed (before it becomes a blister), then cut out the center so the rubbed spot is exposed to air, then stick the resultant patch on so the cut out spot is centered over the rubbed spot and surrounded with Molefoam. Wish I could draw you a picture! Check it out anywhere Dr. Sholl's is sold. I've also used Band Aid Blister Block, the US Compeed bandage. Both can be lifesavers on a trip.

Thanks laclaire and Betsy. I'll be taking both with me. I usually end up with blisters when I do a lot of walking.
