Foodies in London

Need 4 lunches and 3 dinners. My DH is a real foodie and wine lover. Looking for one expensive fabulous dining experience and the rest little finds, new great chefs, he likes anything but Indian. We'll be staying in the Covent Garden area and like to walk to dinner if possible. That doesn't have to be close just safe walking. During the day we'll be out and about so any location will do.

I've heard great things recently from some foodies whose opinions I would value about a Chinese restaurant, Hakkasan, not a million miles away from Covent Garden. I've yet to go there myself but the internet reviews are great.

I was in Lisbon recently and stayed in Le Meridien. I'd recommend it. It's not near the airport (which by the way I thought was a fair distance outside the town) but it is on the side of town on the way to the airport and has a taxi rank right outside, so it's easy to get to and from the airport.

My lasting memory from Madrid is spending what seemed like most of my weekend stuck in traffic on the way in to town from the airport. Like others I'd recommend staying closer to the city centre if at all possible.

I'm still looking for the London restaurant info, but if you had great experiences in Madrid you can share those also. I'll be in Madrid in September.
