Hi C,

Try looking up "Paris Restaurants" under "search this forum".

You could write a book with the number of threads on restaurants at this site.

Budget is an issue. Some of the 'must eat' will 'surely eat' through your wallet. To eat like a local, an easy rec is to leave the central arrondissements. You are also with kids? Could change the choices.

There are so many wonderful restaurants in Paris of all kinds and all price points and at least twice as many mediocre to bad ones. BEST is subjective, as is the MUST NOT BE MISSED category. We need to know what you're looking for(type of food, atmosphere, price point, location etc)before many useful suggestions can be made.

I recommend going to the France board of the Chowhound website, a discussion board that is ONLY about food. First read a lot of the discussions there and then you can post specific questions and you'll get tons of great info from folks who focus their Paris trips on eating well.

Good luck.

Check out Our Paris Forum. You can read without joining and the members are all Paris Addicts. One of us is always on the spot and several members live there. One of whom is a food blogger and has a recipe website. Really a nice international group
