Itinerary Calculator

In a perfect world, there would be an itinerary calculator that allows you to select cities you want to see, and length of visit, and mode of travel, and then it provides feedback on your plan given tried and true data from travelers on how long to stay in a given city and how long it takes to get from place to place. It would say, ?All these places in 14 days! You?re crazy!? or ?If you skip Sevilla and Morocco, you can do this.? Does anyone know if this exists? Does anyone want to take a crack at this type of travel plan analysis?

For me, the planning and research is half the fun.

That is what I do almost every day. But, it cannot be automated since it must be personalized. There is no subsitute for personal experience and tons of planning--it is not a formula.

This forum does an outstanding job of doing just what you are talking about -give it a try and see what happens. People here will let you know if you get too wild and crazy or try to play speed demon.

That's not my idea of a perfect world at all. I don't want some digital vacation planner. I much prefer reading and gathering my own information and making my own choices.

ArlintonVA, silly, all you need to do is post an itinerary on Fodors and you'll get plenty of cracks on this type of travel plan analysis!
