It is imperative that you learn some French. I would not rely just on Google Translate. You need to write down in French, with input from a NATIVE speaker, "I am allergic to" and then list the items. If you mispronounce, nobody will understand you and then you will be frustrated or worse, end up eating something you should not eat. Google Translate is good, but it will not replace a native speaker. And why not start some French lessons with duolingo.com? A great resource and you have time. And eat raw salads. Crudite et salad nicoise. (Tuna salad a la franchise.)

An addition about raw foods. You don't say why you are against them, but if you are concerned about getting hepatitis or salmonella or some other food borne illness, please reconsider. I got giardia from the San Francisco Bay Area water many moons ago. Avoiding dairy: if you eat in a kosher meat restaurant there will be no dairy. The Marais (4th arrondissement) is a good choice for un restaurant kasher. There are many Kasher restaurants that serve Kosher food from the Maghreb - North Africa. Seek them out and you will not be disappointed. Bonne chance

You should probably avoid eating any fruit pastries, because sometimes they include apple pectin.
Read labels in grocery stores to be sure whatever you can't eat isn't included.
Don't rely on Google Translate - get a good dictionary, instead.

Hi all,
Thank you for your responses. I joined this website and posted this question because it is my first time traveling out of the country, I am not familiar with French cuisine, and do not want to spend my vacation in stomach pain from eating food I shouldn't- or worse, having to make an emergency hospital visit. I, of course, carry an Epi pen with me, but would still rather avoid that.
For all of those who gave NICE, informative responses- I thank you dearly. You have helped eased some of the anxiety I had about going out to dinner in Paris. I was simply asking for a meal I can order at some restaurants that I could eat without modification.
For those wondering, yes I will eat salads.
For those who were rude- why? Do you have nothing better to do then prey on people who ask questions on the internet? Isn't this what this forum is for? Don't answer if you're going to be rude. You can seriously hurt peoples feelings that have struggled with food issues and stomach issues their entire lives. It is not easy, and you will not understand unless you go through it yourself.

Ain't that the truth. I struggled with digestive issues for 40 years until I gave up wheat and gluten (Celiac disease runs in my family). A Celiac website has cards in several languages that I could download which I took to France in June. If your condition has a name or an association you might find something similar. I had one episode during our 2-week trip when I did not show the card because I assumed what I ordered would be "safe".
I think you can eat well in France as long as you can make your needs known.
