Folegandros - How long??

We need help from anyone who has traveled to Folegandros. It looks like, due to ferry schedules, that we will have to stay in Folegandros for four days and four nights. We will be there in late June. Is there enough to see and do? We are in our mid-thirties, enjoy beautiful scenery and exploring, and enjoy dinners out and socializing. We are not necessarily looking for the nightlife of say Mykonos, but would enjoy a little liveliness. Will we be bored? Should we cut our stay to two nights? Thoughts?

There are no accurate ferry schedules available yet for next June. It is a good possibility that you will not have to spend 4 days there. Check

www.gtp.gr

in April for the summer timetables.

According to this website right now there are ferries 5 days/week between Santorini and Folegandros.

I went there in mid April several years ago and ferries were about every 3 or 4 days but that is out of season and seas were rough. I would think that they would be more often in June. You can go on some nice hikes on the island. It was very quiet when I was there but it was just before easter. The tourists hung around together at dinner. It was easy to get to know others due to the size and it was allot of fun. I think you should give it a try. Another island that you may want to consider if you think folegandros is too small, is Amorgos, near Naxos, it is a little easier to travel to and is larger, also with great hiking and places to visit as well as traditional farming still going on. If you are going to Santorini and want a second island with a slower pace then Folegandros is a good choice.

Hello tracy! Folegandros is a small island with a small 'chora'. So the choices for cafes, and tavernas are limited. But it's a very cute island and i would suggest you to stay in Anemomylos Apartmets: http://www.greekhotel.com/cyclades/f...momil/home.htm
It has a great view!
