Thanks for the info. So if I am understanding you correctly, you choose hotels you know of already, keep looking at their sites for their best rates or specials, then jump on them as soon as you see them?

I envy your summer...here it is sweltering!

Yes, Wren that is about right. Also we have fax machine and I can fax to Europe for pennies for each fax. These faxes go to hotels that I am interested in and I ask them for brochures and rates. I have bulging files of brochures that are all sorted out.

I know that brochures are just one clue, but I can rule out some that way. Each trip I try to look at some of these hotels and the rooms. This helps me more than an opinion from others because they don't know what I like. The red Michelin guide is the only guide that has helped me.

Fortunately, my husband trusts my judgement on the hotels. Now if he would just trust my judgement on everything.........

I am an unpaid hotel evaluator. It is just fun for me.

Thanks Lynlor. I think I will try your method for our next trip. I love making the arrangements for travel as well. My husband trusts my judgement in this area too!

If you come up with a tried and true method to get them to trust our judgement all the time...let me know asap!!
