Fodorites in London Oct 15 and after?????

hi all,

Okay we are set with the time to go...tickets paid for! Now is the time to plan the gravy....

Are there any other fodorites that will be going to london anytime during Oct15-Oct 30th??

Would love to meet and greet! During my trip to paris in 2001, I met the "elvira" and marla and her hubby and had a wonderful time. Elvira is a real lady and a hoot! We had dinner at a restuarant cafe on the Seine and had a wonderfully enjoyable evening.

I would love to meet up with some more fodorites. I never did get a pin, but I am with you in heart!

Hi Erinb,
Well ,I don't have a Fodors pin either but I do have a nifty set of Fodors refrigerator magnets that I received when I registered for this site. Hummm... do magnets count as Fodorite credentials? :?
Oh,one more detail, I'll be in London during part of the dates you specified. /:-) :-)
If you'd like to meet, give me an e-mail address and we can exchange names, ranks, and social security numbers and plan a time/place in London for ((c)) or a ((d)) or din-dins. :-D

What's this???? You said you got magnets when you registered????

Lesli Jul 11th, 2003 12:45 PM

dln -

Only the first 300 people to register got the gifts. Some got magnets, some got pins, and some got a "How to Pack" book.

Yep.. I received magnets in a little plastic case ,my prize for being one of the first 300 people to register for this site. Some of the other 299 people got the"how- to- pack book"
The tiny magnetic strips have 'travel ' related words written on them, the idea is to post sentences on your fridge ,i.e. " Meet me at the Casaba " or " I love Transylvania in the Springtime."
The set is amusingly lacking a variety of verbs, though. ;-)

Erin, I live here and would be happy to meet up...
We had a couple of dinners in Paris with "Elvira" too - my neice was particularly bowled over by her... I think she was the first American my neice had met to boot.
Just email if you'd like to arrange anything.

<"Meet me at the Casaba." >
Did I really say casaba??? b(
Hoo boy.. that's what I get for poking fun at the Fodors magnets, which after all were a gift and should not be taken lightly. O:)
Point of fact, there was no magnet that had casaba or even Casbah written on it.
Kavey: I think it would be a lot of fun to meet, I hope we can arrange this with erinb.

hi kavey and starspinners:

I think this is a wonderful idea. >:D<
I would love to meet you both if possible...maybe a fodors dinner. Kavey, I was really impressed with Elvira's knowledge of paris and her excellent french! She is one classy lady and a hoot to boot!

starspinners...I really hope we our times are meshing and my email for this board is:

[email protected]

Kavey, I will contact you as soon as I hear from starspinners..

Now on to something urgent...are you using the longhand to get those smiley's to work or do you just cut and paste the picture?

I am going to try the longhand and see.... :D

Ohhh...it worked with the longhand...wonderful!

Can't wait to here from you!

Kavey Jul 12th, 2003 12:23 AM

I just type the : D to get :D - I use it on a number of sites so it's instinctive...

Will drop you an email shortly.

I must have been 301...I got nothing
:-(

Ruth Jul 12th, 2003 05:43 AM

I wouldn't worry too much, Mucky. I got "How to pack" (list price $4.95, value declared by Fodors on the customs sticker: $1.49). Still, nice of them to mail it to me in the UK, better still if it had contained any but the most obvious tips about packing. The fridge magnets sounded more interesting.

Kavey and Erin,
"You've got mail". :-)
