Flynn to London for a three days what is better to land in Heathrow or Gatwick ?

Hi, My daughter has to fly to London for a few days for business, what would you recommend landing in Gatwick or HEathrow? and also what would be the best reasonable way to get to Downtown London.?

Makes no real difference - go w/ the one that gets her the best connections and/or airfare.

Depending on where she is staying, both hotels have easy connections into London . . . . . .

Heathrow is nearer to London. Can get heathrow express (expensive) or tube, which is slower but more realistic price. Gatwick further south.

sorry should have said heathrow express and tube take you directly to london. tube slower but a bargain, and slower than express. Former takes about an hour.

Even tho' LHR is closer in - depending on one's final destination in the city, getting in from LGW can be much faser.

So it honestly makes very little difference which airport one uses . . . . .

Thank you very much for your replies.

Janis: she is heading from the Airport to
Hanover Sq., Central London, can you add something
knowing her London destination?

Thanks again Janis and Megandaisymay

Not a lot in it.

By public transport:

From Heathrow: Heathrow Express to Paddington (15 minutes), tube (Bakerloo Line) to Oxford Circus (10 minutes), 5-10 minutes walk from there; she could take the tube (Piccadilly Line) and change at Green Park for Oxford Circus, but that's slower and the interchange a a bit more laborious - say 50 minutes to an hour in all.

From Gatwick: train to Victoria (30 minutes), then tube (Victoria Line) to Oxford Circus (5-10 minutes). The interchange at Victoria strikes me as potentially a bit more bothersome in terms of stairways and crowds.

Heathrow Express is the most expensive of these options, but as it's a business trip and the difference is not great, I imagine that's not the primary issue.

Hi, thank you Patrick, no I guess she can spend like
40-50 pounds, that would be ok.
She was wondering that in this context, meaning that she can spend that amount of money to get to Honover Sq, which would be a better choice , fly into Heathrow or Gatwick or it would it mean no difference?
He has two options of airliners, one goes to H. the other to G.
Thank you.

It really doesn't make a difference. I always use teh one w/ the best fare.

But since money apparently isn't an issue here - She should go w/ the one that gives her the best connections and/or her airline of choice.

which airport she lands at really isn't as important as how convenient the connections are stateside . . . . .
