Flying within Spain: experiences with Vueling?
 

Hi there,

Any opinions on Vueling airlines? Will be flying from Barcelona to Seville, and Veuling's fares are much cheaper than Iberia.

We flew Vueling from Barcelona to Granada in Oct. - it was great.
Nice aircraft, pleasant staff ,and right on time - all for 40 euros!

My parents flew from Barcelona to Santiago de Compostela back in september and it was also great. They were on time and very cheap.

So far Vueling is batting 100 on this posting. I recently flew them from Lisbon to Barcelona and everything went well. Due to a bit of stupidity on my part, I missed my plane and they even put me on the next plane for 70 euros less than it should have cost me.... they were very helpful and very kind. I wouldn't hesitate to fly Vueling again.

We are also considering using Vueling for a flight from Barcelona to Sevilla next May. Are there any serious baggage retrictions on this flight? We can accommodate but its nice to know in advance. Looks like a terrific time saving (and $) move.

Just flew Vueling once (enough time to learn that it is pronounced "Welling" in Spanish). Flight was from Seville to Barcelona. no problems - nice plane, on time, etc.

we travel with carry on only but this was on their web page regarding your question:

"Each passenger can transport in the hold (according to luggage allowance) up to a maximum of 20kg of luggage, for which they must pay the corresponding fee (€4 per flight and suitcase when this service is contracted through our website, and €9 per flight and suitcase when it is contracted in the airport). The passenger must pay €8 per kg of luggage that exceeds the 20kg limit mentioned above. ...

Flew Vueling from Rome to Barcelona in October.
Very pleasant , on time etc.
Plane was a bit old and seats were so close my knees touched the seat in front - I'm a 5' 6" woman! - but for the price I'd fly them again.

We flew Lisbon to Madrid last year on Vueling and I was really worried our bags would be overweight since I had bought a huge amount of tiles in Lisbon. I was amazed, but we weren't, and the flight was great. I would definitely use them again.

I am interested in flying Vueling this winter from Malaga to Barcelona. For those of you who have already used this airline, how did you make the booking? Did you make it after arriving in Spain and if so, how?/ Internet? An agent?

Vueling is fine and you make your booing via internet.
The one thing you have to be advised when flying with them is that they are very strict with puntuality, so if you are late, just one minute late, you have chances of not flying.
The good side is their flights are mostly on time.

I'm trying to purchase tickets online (reside in US) and it rejected my credit card and debit card. I called my bank and there is no problem with the card. My friend tried to use her card and same problem. Has anyone experienced problems purchasing tickets with a US address?

Yes, happened to me last week trying to purchase Vueling tickets with my B of A card. First time I called they said nothing wrong with the card but because it's an international website the fraud department put a block on it. Call your banks fraud dept. and have them stay on the phone with you while you purchase the tickets, that's what I did and it went through. good luck.

I tried to book on line with Vueling and had the same problem of my card being rejected. I thought it was because I was trying to book from the States. My credit card company called me that same night and asked if I had tried to buy tickets with Vueling--they said there has been quite a bit of credit card fraud? After I had given my ok, the card company said they would not block the purchase and I was able then to proceed with my booking on line.

Regarding baggage, they also admit: "1 piece of carry-on luggage weighing up to 10kg with the maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm." So you have 30 Kg total...

I'm planning to fly with Vueling from Paris to Barcelona, then Barcelona to Rome and back to Paris from Venice.

If flying out of Madrid I prefer Spanair.Vueling flies out of terminal 4 which takes forever to get to-train out to the terminal,long walk to gates.Spanair flies out of terminal 2-much more user friendly/closeif not better price and I can get dividend miles (partners w/USairways).
