Flying into Naples

I am looking into a short tour which starts in Naples and leaves from Rome. I have traveled alone many times to meet tours in Europe but am somewhat hesitant about arriving at the Naples Airport. Would a single (mature but resourceful) female feel safe there?

Also, has anyone had experience with Stay and Visit Italy tours (Orofino)? They offer one week jaunts that suit my present schedule.

Gracias....

HI LD,

What concerns you about NAP? It's just an airport, like most others.

I am not sure that Ira has ever been to Naples airport, but I flew in and out of there last spring. It is quite small and not threatening, although you do need to take care around the baggage claim and upon exiting--just as you would at other big city airports and perhaps a bit more so..

Naples is a easy to handle. Pick up your bags exit and catch the airport shuttle back into town (5e pay on bus) which takes appx 20-30min depending on traffic. It takes you right to termini. Were are you meeting your tour? There is a reasonable hotel just around the corner the Hotel Europa 80e with net access that is quite safe I have stayed there many times. The area around the termini is tricky pay attention!, pickpockets abound. Side streets interesting selling everything you can think of. In general termini area is similar to bus station areas in usa. If you need more info speak up many go there on this list.
