Flying Germany to Ireland

We are flying from Germany to Ireland and are finding airfare to be tough. I can find a flight to London and then a flight to Shannon or Kerry but there is only a few hours (2.5) in between and we are switching airlines. The other option is to fly in to London in the evening and out the next day. As we will need to go through customs etc I am thinking it might be better to take the next day flight. Does that make sense - we have to sleep somewhere anyway.

What part of Germany are you trying to fly out of? Where would you like to get to in Ireland?

We are flying from Munich. We will be going to Dingle so Shannon, Kerry, or Cork are all options. Budgetair showed a flight from Munich to Cork on Aerlingus but it isn't on the Aerlingus website.
Thanks for checking. Regrets for not including that important info.

It seem easier to fly direct to Dublin and take a train than to change planes (and carriers) in London. If you plan to hire a car, it's even simpler: just pick it up at Dublin.

Aer Lingus have a direct Munich-Dublin service every day and, if you have some flexibility on dates you can get reasonable rates (€29 plus the usual extras).

Check www.germanwings.com, I'm not sure of your dates or times....

www.eurapart.com has a list of budget European airlines you could check out.

Any chance of flying out of Stuttgart? It might give you more options.

I will check on alternate airports and possible trains. Thanks for the suggestions!

Try RyanAir.com I got a flight from Stuttgard to Dublin for 24 euro including tax (one way). They run sales often and I've heard good things about the airline from friends in Germany.
