Flying from Logan
We are flying from Logan (AirFrance to CDG) next Tuesday. This is our first post-7/11 trip. If you have flown out of Logan recently, how much time is reasonable for check-in and security? Would a Logan Express which gets us to Logan at 4:25PM be enough time for an 8:05PM flight. Thanks.

I fly from Logan often. That should be plenty of time - I've yet to take more than 45 min to get from my car, through baggage check-in and security and to the gate for a domestic flight.

You should have more than ample time. We flew out of Logan to Heathrow (British Airways) on Feb 28. Arrived about two hours ahead of the flight and were all checked in and through security in less than an hour. That's my only international experience since 9/11, so I can't say if it's typical.

I tihnk you've made the right choice. Remember, the Logan Express leaves on time (I've seen them take off while someone was a few feet away buying their ticket).. But arriving in the city at rush hour, their arrival at the airport could be delayed. Plus, you have an international flight, not domestic, so that could add some time (checking passports etc.). So 3.5 hours should be plenty. Bring a book!

I flew out of Logan to Prague in November, and will fly out again on Thursday to Budapest. You are allowing plenty of time. Logan Express is very reliable, and it will get you there in plenty of time. The only time delay was getting through Security. Last time I was at the airport 4 hours in advance, took me about 5 minutes to check my luggage, but afterwards, in order to get to the gate, I had to stand in a line to get through Security, which took 2 hours.
