flying from ITALY to CRETE

Does anyone know if there are direct flights to Crete from anywhere in Italy or even London? Or do you have to transfre in Athens?

I'm having trouble finding airlines that do this.

thanks,
dina

This partially depends on the time of year. There are lots of charter flights during the summer season from London to Crete:

Strangely, there is a flight between FCO and Rhodes, but none between FCO and Crete, so you will have to transfer in Athens.

I just found out that AEGEAN AIRLINES flies between Milan and Heraklion, Crete!

I could be mistaken, but I think a flight from Milan to Crete on Aegean will still require a change of planes in Athens.

There are lots of flights to Crete from London during the summer (May - October). GB Airways does a scheduled service, Thomsonfly, Thomas Cook, Excell and First Choice are the main charter flight companies.
