Oh man. A lot of grumpy passengers with low blood sugar, I bet.
Several years ago we caught an AF flight from San Francisco to Paris that was facing a similar situation (strike by catering crew). I have to hand it to AF, though--as an emergency measure, they got one of SF's top caterers to rustle up "picnic" lunches for the passengers. We had pate sandwiches on freshly baked French bread, salads, cheese, raspberry mousse cake and throughout the flight, free flowing champagne. Turned out to be our best economy meal ever and we were sorry the strike was over for our return flight when meal service was back to normal (lousy hot meal with fancy title).

BTilke, Air France suppliers must decide to hit 'em where it hurts. Friends flying from CDG to Baltimore this June on an Air France/Delta flight were given no warm food. To them it appeared that only those flights to the US were being struck by the catering supplier. Deborah

It's now a great deal worse than just an opportunity to bring your own food and get a decent meal om a plane for a change.
At this moment, all BA checkin is suspended, Mrs F is stuck on a plane that's landed but can't go beyond the runway, and all baggage handling is up the spout.
