Fly Rail Baggage
I would like to know if I can buy this tag at airport or any place. I checked the raileurope website. The tag is $15 and they charge another $15 shipping cost. That does not seem reasonable to me.
Thanks |
I assume you are talking about Fly Rail in Switzerland. You can buy the tags at any train station in Switzerland. However, if you want to use this servcie to check your bags through from the US to a destination in Switzerland (i.e. you don't have to collect the bags at the airport when you land, but they are sent on for you to your designated train staion), you need to have the tags on your luggage when you check in for your flight in the US. You may be able to buy them from the Swiss Railway, their website is rail.ch. They may be able to mail them to you.

The Swiss (ie Swissair as was: http://www.swiss.com/web/IE6/id-tp-s...rland-flyrail/) site says you can buy them from Swiss counters at any airport - presumably meaning any airport where Swiss has a counter.

cn,
Please be aware that the SBB now only guarantees delivery within 48 hours. Last month, I sent a bag from Saanen to Meilen, and it took two days. So be sure to have two days' clothing and toiletries in your carry-on. s |
Thanks for all the information. Is it easy to find a place to put lauggages on the train?
I don't think I want to wait 2 days for my lauggages. |
Hi cn,
Yes, it's easy to store the luggage on the train -- either at the end of the car or between the seats or in the overhead rack. The hard part is *getting* the suitcase onto the train!! Do you have a large (26") bag? You'll be happier if you can travel with a 24" or 22". s |
