Fly fishing in Ireland
I am always giving out my 2 cents worth of advice on this forum..as good or bad as it may be..now I need a bit of advice myself..I am taking the family to Ireland April 6-15..and was curious to know a bit about fly fishing in Ireland at this time of year..Is it too early in the year to take a shot at it??..Prime time fly fishing where I am at is typically late summer and early fall..and I am assuming it is the same in Ireland..I am just waiting for someone to confirm that for me such that I don't waste my time. Thanks alot !!!

Guy,
Sorry you couldn't get through to me. Try <[email protected]>.
In the west, The Ballinakill Fishery District, comprised of the Owenwee, Bunowen, Carrownisky rivers, the Delphi, Erriff and Owenglin fisheries and the Culfin Dawros System have sea trout from June 1 to September 30. Salmon are in all of them during May and June.
This also applies to the Galway Fishery District and the North Western Fisheries Region which extends from just north of Westport, Co. Mayo or Mullaghmore Head, Co. Sligo.
There are many angling centers. I have a list.
