Fly/ Drive #2
I should have been more exact.
We will be leaving from NYC and I heard there were packages that offered air fare and a rental car as a package.

Thanks
Jim

I'm going to try to be as polite as I know how, in coaching you how to use this board.

You've provided a little more information, but now your post only makes sense if a person has seen your first message. You have omitted that you want to go to Ireland in this post which I have just now fixed. But your title doesn't really get the attention of those who might know the info you are seeking.

You're probably going to get some answers anyway. And I hope you keep coming back and asking additional questions as your plans evolve, and offering as much detail as you wish/can - - in the header and in the body of the message as well.

Personally, I would title this post

"Seeking info on package vacations to Ireland from NYC that include a rental car".

And then ask the things you want to know: does anyone know the names of companies that offer these? from what price? what kind of car? have you ever done this? was it a good experience? is there a best month to go?

Best wishes,

Rex
to the top. hoping for some actual answers for jim.
|
What exactly is the question? Jim need a car?
|
does this question get one more chance?
|
Jim
I don't think your question is too tough ... there are many tour companies that offer fly drive packages - you can tour on your own once you buy the flight and rental car through them for (hopefully) good rates. Do a search for Ireland travel ...
I haven't gone yet, so can't offer my experience positive or negative on any given tour operation.

Jim:
There are no hard and fast rules on this board and you're welcome to title your post any way you wish. Personally, I think your title and your post were perfectly clear. You want info on a fly/drive. We don't really need to know where you're going.

I've used gotoday.com and have found their packages reasonable and easy to use--so have some friends of mine. Also, several airlines offer these packages. Try aerlingus.com.

Good luck.

Jim
We just returned from Ireland. We purchashed our tickets from Brian Moore International and it included a car and B&B's. I would suggest that you check out those kinds of packages but also compare just air fares and see what is your best price. Continental flies out of N.Y. and you can rent your own car thru Dooley or Avis or any number of agencies. The B&Bs are all over Ireland and you can have the Irish Tour Board send you a book that lists them along with description and email addresses so that you can make reservations. Or email directly to : [email protected] requesting their publication of B&B's. Just one word of advice, when you purchase insurance for your rental, buy the 100.00 deductable as you are responible for ANY thing that happens to that car whether you do it or not. (we had to pay for a windshield that was cracked by another motorist) Have fun!

I purchased just such a package from www.lynotttours.com for $399 for a week in Feb. Fabulous!
