Floriade
Is Floriade a must see tourist attraction? Are all the information signs in Dutch? I am planning to spend 5 days in Amsterdam in April 2012 and I am trying to figure out if I should add an extra day to see Floriade. Thanks for any help.

I have never been to a Floriade, but I think you will find all the information is in Dutch, English and German. It is very close to the German border this time so there may be a slight favouring of German over English, but all three languages will be present.
If you do decide to visit I suggest you look for overnight accommodation nearby as it would be a very long, tiring day trip. |
Hi dmmonger,
funny you should mention the Floriade as we are intending to go next april combining it was a trip to Keuchenhof gardens. we are taking my mother who has never seen the Keuchenhof but did go to the Floriade in 1982. She'd keen to go again, so it must be worth seeing! we are intending to stay in Delft for the first 3 nights of our trip and then in Maastricht for the last 2. All of the information on the website http://www.floriade.com/tickets is in english. it would be quite a long way to go for a day AND to spend the whole day there, but i assume that there will be coach trips being run by many organisations. the ideal would be to spend a couple of nights there I would have thought. |

I was there 10 years ago, and it was well worth the trip. I hope to be able to go again. Thanks for the tip about the train from Amsterdam. Wanted to send my daughter and niece, but didn't know the best way to get them to the site.
