Can anyone recommend a guided tour that was good in Florence for an overview? Will be there in October. Thanks.

I'll tell you one to avoid. We made reservations with weekendafirenze.com for all our museum trips which was a blessing. We also used them for a walking tour and it was awful. Too expensive, and it just went to places we could have easily gone to on our own for much cheaper. Our guide was much more into his own comedy routine than the people on the tour. Second the recommendation for Enjoyflorence. We did not use them but did use Enjoyrome and it was just great. Have a great time.

Hi Linda, I don't know if you'll get you monies worth out of a tour of Florence. Everything is quite close together and it's easy to walk about. That's half the fun!! I would suggest reading an EYEWITNESS guide of Florence, they have colour pictures and an great amount of detail. I went on a tour of Florence (it was included in my Italy tour price), but didn't learn anything I hadn't already known from the Eyewitness guide! <BR> <BR>Other tips would be to order tickets to Uffizi over the net, to see the Medici Chapel, especially if you're a Michealangelo fan (and who isn't?) and be sure to take a walk up to the Piazza de Michealangelo. Santa Croce has Michelangelo's tomb. <BR> <BR>Save your money for the gelato...
