Florence Tour
 

Looking to book a one day guided tour for my husband and I while in Florence. Artvista tours look great --but I bit more pricey then I can deal with . Can anyone help us with suggestions for a tour person or group that we can get a good overview of Florence in one day. We will be there for 3 days --but would like to do a big tour one of those days. Thanks --Robin

IMHO, you can get a good overview of Florence from a good guidebook and walking around for a day -- the places of interest are all within about a half-hour's walk of each other, except for perhaps going to Fiesole (fee-AY-so-lay) up in the hills. Check out what the guidebooks say about reservations and go for the ones that are interesting to you.

Also, reading some good Florence books in advance, like Mary McCarthy's "The Stones of Florence", and "Brunelleschi's Dome" and maybe some historical novels set in Renaissance Florence will do you a world of good when you get there.

We've use context rome in the past and have always been very pleased with our tours. We're thinking of doing the Medici history tour in Florence on our upcoming trip.
