Florence to Zurich
Hello-
What is the best way to go from Florence to Zurich. My dates are flexible from September through mid December with Thursday through Monday open to travel. I am willing to also leave from Pisa or Bologna to save costs. What are the best rail or flight sights to search? I've had trouble finding routes with Ryan Air, Easy Jet, or Air One. Thanks in advance for the help! |
Swiss flies from Florence to Zurich.

For flights, search on Kayak, but the only nonstop option is on Swiss, otherwise you will need to connect. Ryanair doesn't fly to Zurich. EasyJet only flies to Zurich from the UK, so not much use. Air One does not serve Zurich or Florence.
For trains, you can search schedules here: http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html Looks to be a minimum of 6 hours by train. |
Thank you for all the responses! I decided to add a leg to Vienna and take the train to Zurich which made for a round trip of about $300 USD in late October:)
Booked planes via Kayak Multi City (Thanks Travelgourmet) flying lufthansa out to vienna and swiss back to florence from zurich (Thanks J62) for $221 USD and a second class ticket with reservation from vienna to zurich for $39 Euro! |

You can book a Mini Fare discount on Trenitalia from Florence to Milan (42€ on the AV fast train - travel time 1:45) where you change trains (Milan/Zurich). Use the Le Frecce link on Trenitalia as it shows more fares at a glance (including discounts) and lets you search cheapest fares over a 3 day time span. You must enter the Italian spelling of the cities.
