Florence to Siena Bus Schedules
You will find them at
www.sita-on-line.it
Click on "Toscana" until you finally click on the Firenze to Siena line. Note that there are both "Corse Rapide" (nonstop via the highway) and more scenic but slower local services which stop enroute.
The bus is faster and better than the train on this route.

These buses go so frequently you don't need schedules - just head to the bus station opposite Florence's main train station and enquire the day before. Like trains, Italian buses are dirt cheap. Going to Siena, direct trains are just as fast but deposit you at the bottom of the formidable hill that Siena is draped over, whereas buses take you most of the way up the hill. Of course from the train station, buses or taxis also take you up the hill.

Florence to Siena buses leave every fifteen to thirty minutes and take you within walking distance of Siena's historical center, much closer and more convenient than going by train. Buses start rolling at 6:00 a.m. and cost Euro 6.50 each way, allowing for a day trip of as much as 14 hours in Siena. The fastest buses are those which go by highway (75 minutes), rather than by local roads (over 90 minutes). No need to rent a car just to visit Siena from Florence!!!!
