There are many threads regarding this subject. Try putting in the search "siena" and see if you get them. I actually add to many posts a third option. That is to hire a driver to take you and your family or friends to Sienna for the day and you can also see another Tuscan town as well. I used Sunny Tuscany and my driver was Ricardo. ( www.sunnytuscany.com). When I used them the price was about the same for the three of us had we purchased a day trip on a bus load of people, but the prices have gone up a bit in the last two years. Still, you have a private guide and he has access with his van to drive right into the center of the Piazza where you must have a permit. Also, he took us to a nice little inn for lunch and we even stopped at a local butchers shop to sample the wild boar salami, olive oil, etc. Just an idea for some who may not realize there is this option!
