Florence to Pescara by Train?
 

Could anyone confirm or deny if there is a train that travels from Florence to Pescara directly? I'm organizing a trip this summer, and I need to get from Florence to Pescara via train. Ideal would be a direct train. If not, what would be the necessary steps? Also, if there is a direct train, how long would it take one way?

Looks like you have to change trains in Bologna. the trip might take 4.5-5 hours.

Yes, Pescara is down the southern coast of eastern Italy, along the Adriatic.

No, really no direct train so that you have to commute to Bologna and, using Eurostar, the travel is a bit less than 4 hours and half.

Are you in a rush ?
Is the time your problem ?
If not, I suggest you to commute train in Faenza so that:
a) Firenze - Faenza, they are local and comfortable trains and you enjoy the view of Appennino Tosco-Romagnolo and you can look how many very little towns there are along this railway and also the local people, no tourists, who use these trains and, important, cheap enough because no surcharge for Eurostar.
Then,
b)Faenza - Pescara, a good InterCity and a bit more than 3 hours you arrive at Pescara.
A good timing is:
Florence departure time 09:40
Faenza arrival time 11:27
commute train then:
Faenza departure time 11:56
Pescara arrival time 15:09
The short time you have in Faenza is good to go to the bar out of the station for a good coffee or cappuccino with cornetto.
