Florence to Paris by Train?

I'm trying to think of best way to get from Florence to Paris - there seems to be no 'cheap' flights from Florence directly to Paris. We would have to fly from Milan to Paris but are now considering going by train instead. The train is dearer but have found a day trip (leaving Florence at 4.30AM) arriving in Paris late afternoon. Has anyone been on a train like this during the day and would it be a scenic route? Im thinking it would be a nice alternative to a night train or flying, where we would see nothing. We are travelling in mid January. Thanks

I can't see anything "nice" about getting up at four in the morning. There is a good overnight train from Firenze to Paris, or break the journey by stopping overnight somewhere - Milano or Torino, for example.

I know it would be rather painful getting up that early in the morning but it's the only day train I can seem to find on the net - if we leave on the overnight train, we will see zilch of any scenery.

Hi Amanda - The cheapest I can find is with the budget airline Easyjet.

Fares start at about € 30 incl tax.

Easyjet fly Pisa-Orly.

Pisa is well connected by bus or train from Florence.

Hope this helps ...
