Florence to Galilei airport
I'm thinking of flying out of Galilei in Pisa instead of Peretola. The reason being I think I can get cheaper airfare. I would be leaving from Florence. Would you recommend taking the train dierctly to Galilei to catch my flight or would it be more wise to take the train to Pisa, spend the night there, and take a flight the following day?

Vita, of course it depends on the time of your flight.

I think the one I saw was at noon.

Vita, the train station at Pisa airport is right beside the entrance door - there is no reason to break your journey except if you want to visit Pisa.

Actually, I just check. The flight leaves at 8:45am. Does the train from Florence get there early enough?

No it doesn't.

Vita:

The train to Pisa Airport doesn't run early enough to get you there for an 8:45 am flight. However, do have the option of a 4:33 am train from Florence to Pisa Centrale (arrives 5:52 am) --- from the Pisa Centrale station, it's a quick taxi ride to the airport, maybe 8 minutes. That being said, I don't know if I'd proceed with this 'crack of dawn' plan. What I've just proposed may no longer work if they're enforcing longer check-in times at airports for international flights. Plus the train run at that hour of morning is one of the less reliable slow, pokey trains.

I've flown in/out of Galieli Airport and it's a nice small sized airport and conveniently located. If you can get a cheaper fare thru this airport, I'd go for it. Think it's fairly easy to find a hotel close enough to spend your last night in Pisa.
