Florence to Fiumicino for a morning fllight?

My flight to the US leaves Fiumicino, Rome at 10 AM, on a Sunday. I shall be in Firenze
the Saturday before and although I have paid for a triple room in Firenze the only way to proceed that I see is to leave Firenze Saturday evening and look for a single room in Rome and next morning catch a taxi rom the hotel to the Airport.

Since most planes leave in the morning to the US I imagine that my problem imust have been the problem of many other travelers. Any solution>?

I was wondering is there is a bus that might leave you at the Airport early in the morning.
I would pay any amount because I rather stay in Florence with my daughter and grandson.
They are lucky because they are flying to Buenos AIres and they have an ideal flight combination FLying Florence-Rome-Buenos Aires.

The security for USA flights at FCO is complex--you will need to be there before 0800. Stay at the airport--check out Hilton Garden Inn.

Hi G,

As Bob says, security is a hassle. You should be at FCO 3hrs in advance. Stay in Rome Sat night.

You could arrange a private driver to get you there in time. You'd probably have to leave Florence at 5:00AM or so, and the cost would probably be 300-400 euros.

I'm in the same boat only with a slightly later flight out of FCO so a train is an option for me but thinking about the private driver option also - if anyone can recommend a company that Graziella and I could get a Florence-FCO quote from please let us know. Many thanks!

Have you looked at the possibility of a morning flight out of Florence or Pisa (or Bologna) airport to connect with your 10am?

Also, if you decide to spend your last night in Rome, my recommendation is to stay in Rome rather than the airport. Some people who advise against staying in Rome simply don't like Italian cities. I don't like Italian airport hotels!

For your peace of mind, I would suggest to spend the last night in Rome..

Even if you have a private driver that will take take you to the airport, many things could go wrong during the way..Why take a chance?

I agree with those who say spend the last night in Rome, but of course I understand the issue. I've used Fortuna Car Service a lot and usually deal with Francesco. They're online, English speaking, and you can write to them at [email protected]. It probably will be €300-€500, but if you're willing to pay anything, shoot them an email!

For the amount of money you might spend on a private driver, you could probably pay for your daughter and grandson to join you for your last night in Rome.

and enjoy it, when are you going I am taking the plane on Sunday the 27 Sep.

I will definitely stay in Rome City alone and all and have a taxi or shuttle pick me up early
aprox 6 PM, guess shuttle because being Sunday and so early it is going to be expensive. Hope I can find a shuttle, any recommendation, I imagine the Hotel will know.
Sometimes it is good Bo be alone. I shall miss them but we are going to be together all the other days, the matter in fact, I have planned do so somethings alone in case they are not interest or they have other priorities.Thank you

I may be less expensive to change your flight and fly out of Florence. That would be the first thing to research.
