Florence: taxi or walk from station to hotel?

I also suggest you take a cab. You'll be tired, unsure of directions, lugging your bags over cobblestones on very narrow streets with cars coming at you, unreliable sidewalks, etc. It may be hot, too.
Taking a cab to and from airports and train stations is a luxury I always count on.

We just spent 10 days in Florence at Hotel Cascii which just happens to be about across the street (Via Cavour).
It is about a 15 minute walk. But, with luggage the added aggravation on not knowing exactly where you are I recommend a taxi. Via Cavour is a busy street both directions. Your hotel is 2 or 3 (blocks?) from the Duomo...a great location by the way. One street either way in either direction has some really good restaurants..ask hotel people where.
My understanding is the Europa is a family run hotel similar to the Cascii which we really really enjoyed.
Good luck, if I can help my email is [email protected]
