Florence over Christmas w kids

Will be in Florence w kids 12/24 - 28 - looking for suggestions of things to do Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? What restaurants are open? Any comment about taking trains to Lucca and Pisa on Christmas Day? Is Pisa tower open?

You can get the train from Florence SMN to Pisa easily; they generally run about once an hour and the trip takes about an hour each way.

As I recall the carriages are all Second Class. It is easy to get either a bus or a taxi to the Tower from the rail station in Pisa.

Note that the Leaning Tower has a minimum age limit. You don't say how old the "kids" are.

I've been told by friends that Bologna has fantastic street decorations for Christmas.
