Looking for hotel recommendations in Florence Italy. Is it better to stay near the Duomo or the river. Our budget is 250 euro and under. Will be staying 5 nights

It's all of about a 5min walk from the Duomo to the river so pick 'em. Personally I prefer an apartment for a 5 night stay. ymmv.

Perfect location, close to everything that I like to see and do. Marvelous owners who are very helpful and charming, great breakfasts and immaculately clean room with fabulous pressed bed linens.
