Florence IT Weather in October

What is the weather in Florence like around the 18th of October?

What clothes would be appropriate to bring?

From researching the history of weather in Florence on wunderground.com I found that the day averages 70 degrees or just below with upper 50's in the evening. I've been advised to take a raincoat and an umbrella. I am packing fall like clothing but no heavy sweaters. Florence weather is quite like NY weather from what I can tell except it may rain more.

really? that warm? perhaps. I think we'll actually be in Florence around that time too! I would say dress for fall--have long sleeved shirts, but bring along some short sleeved stuff too, just in case. also, DO bring an umbrella. I think I was there once around that time, and it was always off and on raining. It might be a bit foggy, too.

I've been on October (early and late) and it can be cool in the mornings and evenings but in the 70s F during the day. We did have a bit of rain but thought the temps were perfect.

Yes..it can be very warm during the day, as in short sleeve shirts. It was HOT when I was there a few years ago one week earlier in October.

Is the weather much different in the hill towns to the south? It is so hard to find info since they are so small.

We will be in Montefalco for a week and around Greve for a week. Oct 14-26
