Stayed at the Porta Rossa (Red Door) Hotel and it is close to the Ponte Vecchio, the Straw Market, The Uffizi, shopping, restaurants, and historic sites. The rooms have domed ceilings, angique furniture and a friendly efficient service.

Hotel Pierre does exist; I found postings on other web addresses. Do a search on yahoo or google. I don't think I found one for the hotel directly though.
