Florence Hotels
Hi all,
I am working on booking a hotel for four nights in early October 2021 and would love suggestions. I typically would say my price range is $150-$200 a night, however, everything I am looking at online is much less (I assume due to Covid and lack of tourism.) For neighborhoods, I like the Oltrarno area and Piazza Santo Spirito. I'm thinking it will be less touristy and more authentic feeling. Perhaps the Duomo area will be nice because it's so central and may not be crowded. I would love any suggestions. Thank you! |
Last time I was in Florence I stayed in the small, traditional and elegant Palazzo Guicciardini in the Oltarno. At that time, rates were higher than your preferred range, but as you noted, things may be different this year.

Thank you! What do you think about staying in this area vs the other side of the Arno?

i find the center so chronically crowded that the Oltrarno is a relief, and though it has its share of visitors, it's nothing like the Duomo area. A few minutes' walk across the Ponte Vecchio and another few minutes and you are in the center. The center, then, is a few more minutes' more to markets, Santa Maria Novella, etc.

Thank you Ann!
