Florence day tours

I am looking for a reliable company that does SMALL group day tours in Florence for 2 adults. I would like to do a general tour and perhaps another tour of the Uffizi. I know many say you should use a book but I am interested in doing some tours as well. Since we are just two people the price of a private tour seems a little too steep. I am looking for informative and fun tours that do not primarily cater to teens but are not overly scholarly and dry. If possible, I may want to use this tour company for other parts of My Italy trip as well. Does anyone have any recommendations ? Thank you.

The Florence Tourist Board has a list of guides.

Context Travel is always highly recommended for small group tours of high quality. They have tours in Rome, Florence, and other major cities.

We've used Travel Toe (www.traveltoe.com) in Izmir, Turkey and planning to book with them again for Rome later this year. Their parent company is Viator, so you might want to check them out as well. The tours we booked with them were lead by very knowledgeable guides who spoke fluent English (although that wasn't that first language) and tours were well paced, but not rushed. You can book tours in advance of your arrival in Florence. ENJOY!
