Florence: converters and adapters

Hello. I am studying abroad in Florence and am trying to figure out what converters/adapters to bring for my appliances. I think i want to get a hair dryer there? Does anyone know if there are good selection (with diffusers, etc)? And where I could get a good one there?
Also, I use a straightener, will a basic converter let it work? It's expensive so I don't want to risk it blowing out. I am also worried about charging my cell phone and laptop. Do i need special converters for these? And where would I find it in the US? target and brookstone did not have a great selection. If i happen to need a converter while there, would I be able to fine one easily? Thanks

Hi nn,

My Lady Wife bought a dual voltage hair dryer before our last visit to Europe because the newer high wattage ones can be more than a converter could handle.

I suggest you do the same.

Otherwise, buy your paraphenalia in Europe.

Your laptop and cell phone probably have dual voltage chargers. The label should say 110-240V.

Are you planning on using your laptop for the internet? If so, will you need additional cables and software?
