Florence Apartment Advice

Ok so once again I have trawled this site and others in search of the ideal Florence accommodation. I have found an apartment known as Residenz Rondinelli "Open Space". It is on Via de' Rondinelli. My DH and I will spend 5 nights in Florence. One appealing thing was we will be arriving and leaving via train and we will be doing a couple of day trips so the location seems to be located within easy reach of the train station.

Has anyone stayed at this apartment and/or please comment on the area in which is located. Any other alternatives?

Congrats on your trip go a lot was there lat may going in april area around the SMN station is nice a few blocks from
the Duomo but lots of variability on apartments check reviews on yours carefully.I always use an agent pay with CC many individual scammers on the boards.Check phtos/reviews carefully to be sure they meet your needs rooms baths small beds hard no AC elevator cleaning fees etc usually offer little savings lesscomfort over nicer hotels for me.Have seen folks lose thousands wiring money. sleepinitaly.com another good agent with 90% pluss good reviews on the boards.

Good luck!

Hi

If it helps others the website for the apartment I presume is - http://www.residenzarondinelli.it/eng/apartment2+2.php. I'm not a fan of mezzanine bedrooms (and in this case the small staircase) but each to their own. I had a look on Street View. The street looks really nice. Type in the address on Google. You can use the "little yellow man" to walk the neighbourhood. Pretty cool app. really! If you're unsure on how to do this post your queries here. The website doesn't state if there is a final cleaning fee. You might want to check if there is one. It's not unusual to be around 50 euro.

The street is at the north end of Via dei Tournabuoni, a street of high-end designer shops. I have stayed two blocks from here an number of times precisely for the reasons you cited--proximity to train and bus stations for day trips. I enjoy Osteria Belle Donne nearby.

Thank you for your replies - thanks worldinabag for the tip on looking at the street view. Mezzanine does not really concern us as we will be only in the apartment to sleep. Included in the tariff is the final cleaning. This apartment is also on VRBO and has a few very positive reviews - how reliable is this?

Has anyone any other comments about the location or any other alternative recommended apartments?

Hi again

You may also like - http://www.rentflorencecity.com/bene...florence.html?. Note 45 euro cleaning fee and query re airconditioning (if this is an issue for you). Don't know anything about the rental agency. Maybe other Fodorites have used them. I suggest using the "Search the Forums:" facility above. Good luck!

Thanks worldinabag!

The apartment we are looking at is on the VRBO site and has a few very positive reviews - how reliable is this?

Has anyone any other comments about the Florence location or any other alternative recommended apartments?
