Florence & around - 2 days - Must see places/ things

Hello fellow travellers,

I will arrive in Florence on Friday night and planning to stay till Sunday night. I will have full 2 days to explore florence, pisa, parma or any other suggested places around the area.

Well thats the plan but I can modify it based on your past experiences. I am also open for company with any fellow traveller in that region. My dates are June 21 - 23.

Cheers

The tourist board lists itineraries for 24 and 48 hours.

You don't really have time for side trips with only two days.

With only 2 days, you barely have enough time to do Florence justice. Forget the side trips for this visit and try to see some of Florence.

After 7 trips there and probably 4 weeks total, we still have places to see.

My list of "must sees" includes the Duomo, the Duomo museum, the Accademia (for David), Santa Croce, Museo San Marco, Fiesole, the Bargello and the San Lorenzo. If you like Renaissance Art, the Uffizi is a must.

I agree, spend 2 days in Florence.

1st day I would book a tour. We used Paul Costa last year, he was amazing, so much history and so many things we never would have seen on our own.

I also agree that you should spend the whole time in Florence. Depending on what you are interested in, you can see the Duomo (cathedral), the Uffizi (one of the most famous art museums in Europe), and Michelangelo's David.

I read your post twice.
I hope I misunderstood and you didn't mean to visit Florence Pisa and parma in 2 days, did you?
I bet you'll decide Florence is enough at the first glance!

Thanks for the suggestions fellow travellers.
I think better to spend time in Florence. I am driving from Florence to Turin, so was planning to stop over at Pisa or Parma. But if it is too much of hastle, better avoid it.

Be very careful about driving in the centre of Florence as it is very easy to drive into the restricted zone and you will get a ticket in the mail several months later!
