Florence Accomodations

I'm down to the last set of accommodations in Florence. There are so many choices!! I dont know what location is best either. When we stayed there 25 years ago we were near Piazza della Signoria, which was great. We dont know if we should expand our search to other areas or stick to this spot. In the Piazza I found Casa del Garbo - reviews on tripadvisor are mixed. I also found Grand Hotel Minerva which has great reviews on TA but I dont know if its a good place or location. Any info or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Grazie!!

I prefer the location of Casa del Garbo, but the GH Minerva is convenient if you plan to take several day trips by train/bus. The Tripadvisor reviews I saw for Garbo were more uniform (and positive) than those for Minerva which had many 'poor' or 'terrible' ratings (albeit going back a few years). The Garbo is recommended by Karenbrown.com which would add points for me.

We have stayed twice in GH Minerva, most recently in September of this year. We like it a lot. Great location. Fine, roomy rooms and baths. Very nice breakfast. Nice bar and public rooms. Nothing whatsoever to complain about and good value. It's up in the top 10% of hotels we've ever stayed in.

Jean - Never heard of Karen Brown. Checking out the website - thanks!

We've stayed at several properties recommended by KB. For those hotels, the descriptions were very accurate.
