Floods in the UK (Yorkshire)

Hi, there has been terrible rain and storms here the past week, resulting in some very bad flooding, particularly in Yorkshire. Thought I'd post this so anyone coming here is aware of the probs.

Hi

Yes I just saw it on the news (Aussie). Unbelievable. Summer? Let's X the fingers for minimal loss of life and damage.

Wow, I was just reading about the Ulley Dam but I didn't realize that things were so dire in Sheffield. Hillsborough Stadium is under four feet of water! And Leeds and Barnsley are submerged. Yikes. Let's hope for a break in the rains.

It has stopped raining and the flood water has receded, but it has left tons of mud and broken-down power lines, telephones, roads and rail lines. It will be a while before full life resumes in those areas.
My heart goes out to all the Yorkshire folks so affected.
