and zaragoza with the Expo... what a shame.

the only good thing with all this rain is the reservoirs are filled higher than usual.

we have gone from drought to floods.

Aduchamp1 Jun 3rd, 2008 07:56 AM

Supposedly this is the rainiest season in 60 years.

I live about half a mile from the part most seriously affected, Getxo. Today itīs been a sunny day and everything is coming back to normal. No casualties. The worst flooding in 25 years, they say.

We had heavy rain for 24 hours in a row. Bilbao has not been almost affected.

lincasanova Jun 3rd, 2008 12:42 PM

the valencia region has had the heaviest rainfall since 1843 or something like that!!

getxo really got hit..

hope the sun continues to shine for all faced with this nightmare.

Hi Mikel,

my brotherīs girlfriend lives near Avda de los Chopos, and they were able to see a couple of people swimming to cross it.

At least it seems that things werenīt so bad as they could have been in the Nervion, and Bilbao wasnīt affected.

I wonīt be going there until the end of June ... and I really hope that we will have beach weather.

Rgds, Cova

Weather is not that nice now, Cova...at least not in the past two months, but it can only get better.

I live just by the Artea shopping centre, and for five years I lived in Los Chopos, the area is now OK, but still recovering, it was really impressive.

Mikel,
There were some great pictures of the floods in Alava-Araba on eitb24 the other day. Hope everything dries out by the time we get there.

Also, it appears that this is the 708th anniversary of the City of Bilbao. That's a lot of candles.

See you later.

mikelg Jun 15th, 2008 09:42 PM

Everything is dried up and in perfect condition, but it has certainly rained a lot this spring.

We celebrated the 708th anniversary last Saturday night, with a very spectacular show. Wait and see for the 800th...

Robert2533 Jun 16th, 2008 05:01 AM

Waiting for the 800th would be pushing it slightly. How about the 709th?
