floods in Andalucia

There has been flooding in Murcia, Almeria, and Malaga. Roads and bridges out, people dead, etc. Take care.

Tragic. Thanks for letting us know.

Aren't you referring to the floods of two years ago? There have been no flooding of note in Southern Spain recently, though the weather is likely to change over the next few days with some rain forecast.
Can you give a link to the story?

Bedar Sep 29th, 2014 05:09 PM

No, not the floods of two years ago or the bad ones of 1973. Sorry, don't know how to post a link on iPad. Just go to the BBC site or better still just put in Google - floods Almeria and all the articles will come up.
My daughter and husband were in Barcelona last night on their way to Mojacar (Almeria). Must have seen tv there and so learned about the floods.
We survived them in '73 and then cancelled our trip there two years ago. No, these are today.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the terrible floods of 2012, maybe that is what you saw.

Bedar Sep 29th, 2014 07:33 PM

IMD, can't you read ?

chapla Sep 29th, 2014 09:13 PM

What lovely people. Someone can't write or electronically post the story then they blame someone else. The amount of children here increases daily.

Still nothing in ElPaís http://elpais.com/tag/muertos/a/76 :-(

Bedar Sep 30th, 2014 06:54 AM

Oops, sorry. Guess I'm the one who can't read (in this instance). Very strange. Sorry.

chapla Sep 30th, 2014 07:08 AM

Bedar-congrats to you for your apology-a rare occurrence on Fodor's!

Thanks, Ribeira. My daughter decided to skip the Mojacar area. They hopped the trains and took the AVE to Seville which made her husband happy since he's a train buff. Guess they'll visit Cordoba before meeting up with her father in Madrid on Tuesday. Fortunately her Spanish is fluent - grew up in Spain and later taught Spanish in the US - so they're able to cope with whatever problems may arise, Next trip she'll have to visit Galicia and try some of your beef !! Thanks again.

ribeirasacra Oct 1st, 2014 08:33 AM

Not MY beef please!

Bedar Oct 1st, 2014 08:55 AM

That is, Galician beef which you've touted here on Fodors !
