Flights, WOW!!!!!

I can't believe these flights. I am trying to go to Rome from Fort Lauderdale and then Milan back to Fort Lauderdale in the middle of May. Nothing less than 1060.00 per person. Yet I am seeing all you guys getting great fares like 650.00 etc. What is you secret? Some people told me to wait until after the new year, so I did. They actually went up instead.
I am also trying to use 1000. in delta vouchers.
Help !!!!

It costs more to travel in the Spring. Bestfares.com just had the flight you mentioned for around $500.

But the bargains aren't that abundant in the spring.

Vic, check flights out of Miami or Atlanta - they sometimes are substantially cheaper than out of FLL.
Try cheap tickets at http://www.cheaptickets.com/
We went March/June/September last year and averaged about $450 per ticket with an additional $60 or so in all the typical taxes (which you're going to have to pay no matter where you get your tickets). I've noticed that if you start looking too early you get the standard fare for the momemt. You usually start seeing the prices drop about 3 months before your travel dates. I just bought two tickets for the first 10 days of March and paid $458.00 per ticket/$62.90 to Uncle Sam and $11.95 for processing for a grand total of $1053.75. That's from Indy.
I haven't yet checked out fair for this summer.

Hope this helps you.!!

Have a wonderful time

Randall

I enlisted a travel to help me keep a watch on fares since I started looking about 4 months before we left. We had reserved tickets for about 900. (dallas to Milan) and on the day I was to purchase they went up to 1500. Luckily, we were able to to find ones for about 750. Just be patient and vigilant.

Check the discussions on the europtrip.com discussion board on travel. Lots of advice on airfares there.

I had good luck finding a fair from Chicago to Turkey and returning from Athens at www.onetravel.com. There fair was about $200 cheaper than others I found.

The other website is www.eurotrip.com for the bulletin board on cheap flights.

BTW, flights out of Miami are NOT substantially cheaper than FLL. That's just bad information.

thank you everyone. I am continually encouraged by how much people will spend a few minutes helping others when they can. I will persevere.

why don't you try www.travelocity.com??? I have found it very helpful.

elvira Jan 12th, 2001 10:43 AM

Really, x? Hmmm...last year, I routed our Florida girls through MIA and saved them each about $300. I've been checking flights for this fall, just to get an idea what's out there, and from FLL, the airfare is $1830. From Miami, it's $930.

i got a great deal from rockbottomfares.com ... but note, the website doesn't tell about ALL their deals... it's best to call their 800 number from their website and have someone help you. good luck!

United and Lufthansa have a deal out of DC

If you're a student and have an ISCE (international student identity card) use it!! I'll be studying in Spain and got my tix through STA Travel. Instead of the @$1000 round-trip tix though other sites and companies, I was able to get the tix for about $415!! I'd give them a call!
