Try www.easyjet.com or www.ryanair.com

I took BMI from LHR-VCE - http://www.flybmi.com

I took EasyJet from CIA (Rome Ciampino) to London Gatwick (LGW) - http://www.easyjet.com

Ryanair flies CIA-STN (London Stansted).

Also look for flights into/out of Treviso airport, near Venice.

Thanks so much. Did you find one airport or airline easier than the rest? In terms of getting to and from, cab or pickup service? First time to Italy, as you may have gathered. Compared to LHR or LGW, I mean, call me crazy, but LGW is user friendly.
Thanks,

BA (codeshare with AA) flies LGW-VCE and LGW-FCO. Know you can get cheaper flights, but FYI.

Hi isabel,

The least convenient airports are Treviso, Stansted, Luton and Ciampino.

They are also the cheapest connections.

I've used BMI from Heathrow to both Venice and Naples. Both were excellent flights that took off and landed on time.
The prices were also very competitive.

I actually found Ciampino to be a very convenient airport. I caught the Terravision shuttle there from just outside Termini. It did take longer than expected to get to the airport because there was a huge traffic jam. I would take a shuttle at least one hour earlier than the recommended one.

In my experience, Heathrow has a high probability of delay - but that didn't happen on my flight to Venice. I also think Gatwick is an easier airport to manage.

Amazing! Thank you all. Is it better to or even possible to arrange for a hotel pickup in venice, I am staying at the Bonvecchiati? Thanks yet again.
