Flights to Rome...

Has anyone ever used 1800Flyeurope.com to make airline reservations? Just wondering, because I got a very good fare quote for my trip in November. I'm afraid to go with them, because I never heard of them. THanks.

yep, just did for my trip to France/Ch last month, and, please do tell you fares! that's the next stop, and I am thinking maybe November as well!

from which airport?

good luck!

btw, I called their 800 number, didn't go it online...

Their website, especially the car rental section, looks like AutoEurope's...wonder if they're related?

111op Jul 14th, 2004 12:29 PM

I think they're, Judy. I seem to remember that they answer their phones this way.

I just checked both sites for the same itinerary. flyeurope was about $200 cheaper than autoeurope, but autoeurope's quote included 1 day car and cell phone (which was not requested).

I've never rented cars in Europe, so I've no idea.

By the way, you may want to start your own thread if you're interested in finding out more.

I just bought tix for late October from 1800flyeurope and have been very pleased so far. $591 inc tax per person, direct JFK to FCO. Got the receipts in the mail yesterday and it all seems very legitimate and official. Good luck!

They are part of Autoeurope. I've used them twice and was very satisfied with both the service and the price

They are great! Got my SFO-Rome tickets for $570 + 110 tax. I was really happy with that considering what tickets were going for.

When you use 1800FlyEurope, are you allowed to chose your favourite Airline also ?

111op Jul 15th, 2004 06:43 AM

I think that they must have special deals with various airlines -- for example, Virgin Atlantic and American. And certain flights are not allowed (I once asked regarding a code-share flight that Virgin had with Continental and was told that the fare did not apply to that specific flight).

I believe the flights acrrue miles as well.

Kismet, I think you are permitted to express a preference on airlines. I know you can at Justfares.com, another place where you can get a bargain from time to time.

Thanks BC,

I want to travel with AA because i am accumulating FF miles.
Next year I plan to visit my beloved Rome..
How are you doing? Are you strong and well enough to travel yet?
Take care and keep up with your wonderful positive attitude.
Ciao,
AnnaMaria

I just checked France.com for JFK to FCO from Oct. 19 to Oct. 26 and came up with several fares starting at $473.50. You can choose your airline in most cases. One fare only listed "major German airline" but the rest gave the name of the airline.

We've often found good fares there so it's worth checking. ((@))

Hi Kismet,
Yes, I am headed to Exeter, UK to visit my god-daughter in mid-September, for just a couple of days, and then I'm headed to Rome and down the Amalfi Coast til the beginning of October. Ain't life grand when you're healthy? :)

All the Best,
BC

flygirl Jul 16th, 2004 06:39 AM

Bookie, I am so glad you are going on this trip and that you are all healthy again!

kismetchimera Jul 16th, 2004 07:49 AM

BC,
I am so happy that you are doing so well. You are so right, to be healthy and enjoy life is the most beautiful thing in the world.
Sometimes we wish for more wealth, better job etc.., but if you dont have your health, nothing matter..
Are you going to fly to Rome from London?
Next year I am also going to Venice, the Amalfi Coast and of course Rome..
Take care.

Thanks, Flygirl! Yeah, I had a little virus over the 4th of July weekend, and was hospitalized, but I'm feeling SO much better now. My docs are still monitoring my blood counts on a regular basis.

Yes, I'll be flying into London, and then doing a London-Rome flight. My god-daughter will be abroad for her 21st birthday, and away from her family, so I thought I'd pop in and surprise her. And you're so right---we wish for so many things, but if we don't have good health, what good is any thing?

:)
