flights from southampton

Do any of the discount airlines offer cheap last minute flights from Southampton. Thinking of doing a one night trip from Southampton to just about anywhere that is cheap and available! Not sure where you can get to from Southampton and if it's possible to go in and out same day and/or next day This would be for around Nov. 21st.

www.whichbudget.com/ is a good place to start looking.

But in my experience "cheap" and "last minute" are not compatible. Most of the low cost lines are only low cost when tix are bought far in advance. Last minute tend to be the most expensive.

You can also go to the Southampton Airport website at www.southamptonairport.com/ and check out the list of destinations. Flight prices will depend on how many seats have already been sold, so you may find some cheap deals.

Hi ...

The main airline is flybe.com. They go to about 20 places from Southampton. But like any cheap airline, their fares get more expensive the closer you get to flying.

I have managed to fly to Manchester for £40 return - I have also manged to to the South of France for £40 return.

Have you looked at Bournemouth - it is 45 minutes by car or train from Southampton & thompsonfly.com have some good fares - also they are having a seat fare at the mo.

But I think you will struggle to get in & back in the same day - Manchester or Glasgow might be an option - but that won't be cheap - cause you'll have to catch the 1st & last flight of the day.

Maybe look at Jersy - you could go out AM & come PM next day.

What are you looking to do on this day?

As stated, Flybe are the main budget airline from Southampton. They have just bought out BAConnect, so may be offering further routes from the airport, but probably not by Nov 21st.

The obvious destinations might be Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast or Amsterdam

If you don't want to stay in Southampton (and I cannot blame you!) then maybe you could consider other local destinations.

Winchester and Salisbury are both easily reached by train in 30 minutes or less. Bath or London in 90 minutes.
