My not-to-miss pintxos bars in San Sebastian:

PARTE VIEJA (Old Town) area:
"Goiz Argi", Fermín Calbetón 4. Rec: Brocheta de gambas (prawn on a skewer)
"Sport", Fermín Calbetón 11. Rec: Grilled foie
"Tamboril", Pescadería 2. Recs: Champignon and pimiento relleno de bacalao (red pepper stuffed with codfish)
"Txepetxa", Pescadería 5. Recs: Txakoli (white wine), anchoas con crema de centollo (salt anchovies with a cream of spider crab) and pintxo de huevas de erizo (sea urchin roe)
"La Cepa", 31 de Agosto 7. Rec: Red wine from La Rioja with cured ham.
"La Cuchara de San Telmo", 31 de Agosto 28 (back). Have a little patience with staff. Rec: Carrillera (beef cheek)
"Ganbara", San Jerónimo 21. Rather pricey. Rec: Hojaldre de txistorra (puff pastry filled with local sausage)

GROS area:
"Bodegón Donostiarra", Peña y Goñi 13. Rec: Gilda (anchovies, chillies and olives on a toothpick)
"Bergara", General Artetxe 8. The bartender is not unpleasant but a shy person. Gourmet pintxos. Rec: Txalupa (mushroom with prawns covered with cream and grated cheese)
"Aloña Berri", Ricardo Bermingham 24. Gourmet pintxos. Recs: Vermut (red vermouth), La Cucharita and La Piruleta.
