Flights between Rome, Paris, London- I have questions!
 

Right. So playing around with internal European flights from Rome to Paris. Does it make a difference who I should fly with: Vueling, Alitalia, or easy jet? Vueling is $55, the other two are around $90. Alitalia lands CDG, I think the other two are ORY. Know nothing about the airlines or the arrival airports (or I do, probably, but I've got so much in my head now it's all scrambled).

And would you fly from Paris to London or take the Eurostar? I'm thinking Eurostar might be more convenient. Anyone done both?

Yes -- flying a couple of times, Eurostar several times.

It totally depends on what the ultimate destination is. If you are traveling between central Paris and central London - it is a TOTAL no brainer -- Eurostar. Eurostar is faster, easier, and likely cheaper once you figure in traveling to/from the airports.

Same goes for some destinations in the UK -- if there are direct rail links from St Pancras/Kings Cross to where one is headed - the Eurostar is probably best.

But if you are trying to get to LHR or places west of London, like Bath, flying is usually better.

. . . And if you were headed to Bath - then flying into Bristol would be even better.

If using the discount airlines be absolutely certain you know the airports they are using. Sometimes those airports are a long ways from the cities they claim. We like easyJet. Very similar to Swest in the US. But follow all the rules very carefully. The Eurostar is best for Paris to London. However buy the ticket as early as possible for best discount.

Fmpden- yes, I figured that. My question is: is it better to fly into CDG or ORY? They all seem to leave Rome from FCO.

I have flown Veuling between FCO and both ORY and CDG. ORY is a smaller airport so easier to navigate. Depending upon where you are staying in Paris, it might make more sense to fly into one or the other.

A taxi from ORY into Paris is cheaper than from CDG. RER is even cheaper yet but I believe that is a better option from CDG.
